Orc Warrior of the Ragged Wound Tribe

Ig, as I'm calling him from now on, is one of the minis I've had the longest: he's spent four years in the Magical Box of Unloved Lead. Four years! He'd have got less for committing an insurrection. Anyway, Ig was a freebie that came with one of my first Reaper orders, and back in the dim dark days of 2018 I wasn't really interested in painting him.

Some more scenery

As well as painting figures, setting up Zombietown and fannying about with a lightbox, I also got around to some more scenery pieces: three shipping containers and another billboard. 

Welcome to Zombietown

Foxtrot, Edna, Tony and Rhianna take cover behind the barricades as a swarm of zombies heads down Main Street. They're the last line of defence against the undead horde.

Morty

Death is everywhere, but in this case he was on the floor beneath my desk and behind my footrest. I only found him thanks to dropping a brush last night, and I banged him out this morning for something to do that wasn't the dishes or laundry.

Andromedan Hunter

Reaper's Andromedan Hunter, or Andy from now on, was going to be a Fembruary entry only I couldn't find her. I eventually dug her up on February 27, and as I was up to my neck in Vandorendra at the time I put her to one side for the time being.

Fembruary: Vandorendra, Snake Demon

Try as I might, I cannot think of a single convincing story that will allow a six-armed, grey-skinned, flame-haired and firm-breasted snake demon to appear in the zombie apocalypse. Sorry about that.

Fembruary: Astrid, Half-Elf Bard

You go almost four years in the hobby without painting a female character called Astrid, and then two show up in the same month. Weird. Unfortunately, unlike the other Astrid I had no way of fitting her into a post-apocalyptic zombie setting so she's going to be one I painted for fun.

Fembruary: Betty, Space Heroine

I've owned Betty since 2019 and totally forgot to paint her for last year's Fembruary so she was a must for this time around. She's a cool mini with lots of... er... character.

Fembruary: Astrid Berger, Female Spy

Astrid tells the others in her group that she worked in HR for a "boring government department" but her skills with a pistol leave them wondering if she's being truthful. Since the zeds starting munching on the living Astrid's been taking them out one at a time.

Fembruary: Sasquatch

My best friend, Gareth, recently turned 50 a few days after me, so I decided to get him a pressie to mark the occasion. As he's a big fan of the Sasquatch legend I picked up this Reaper mini as a suitable gift.

Fembruary: Natalia, Female Secret Agent

Movie star Cerise Jørgensen was dressed as her character Natalia Smirnoff for a photoshoot to publicize the new superhero movie Onyx Dowager when a passerby took a bite out of her hairdresser. Since then she's survived with the help of her acrobatic skills and a gun she found next to a dead cop.

Zombie hunters part 12a

Sly and Terrell fight back-to-back to defend the record store from a horde of zombies. Once they're out of ammo they'll start beating skulls to pieces.

Two new buildings!

Yesterday I turned 50, so after waking up and commiserating with myself I got on with the standard birthday stuff: doing the dishes. Yay. Then I finally got to open my pressies from Alicia, and I was a happy bunny.

Crimson Herald

Much like the Herald of Razmir, I'm not entirely sure what the Crimson Herald is actually heralding. Is he a proponent of deep red shades? The mascot for a daemonic Blood Bowl team? Advertising a sale at the local Evil Я Us? Whatever he is, it gave me an excuse to whip out the chapel and the door again.

Random scenery

After finishing my new building I got into a bit of a scenery kick and knocked out these Reaper models over the past few days. They were relatively straightforward thanks to the magic of spray paint.

This is my all-time fave nativity scene. The pack of Camels just elevates it to absolute gold status. But unfortunately it's not the topic of this post.

Dragoth the Defiler, Undead Lord, has just stepped on a Lego brick. And yes, that is my giant wererat on the left in the background, which shows how long this model's been sitting on my desk.
