Officer Neil, one of my new Hasslefree figures who'll get his own post soon, stands guard in front of barricades protecting the ruined convenience store. Rumour has it the world's last can of Coke is in there.

Season of Scenery: Monster egg 2
A bit of a short update just to prove I'm alive and still working on this thing.

Season of Scenery: Monster egg
I saw this last month on one of the few Black Magic Craft tutorial videos I hadn't watched and wanted to give them a go. Luckily Alicia had bought some cheap hollow plastic eggs in Walmart at Easter, so I had the basic ingredients. In the interests of full disclosure, I will be copying a lot of BMC's work in terms of techniques as he did an awesome job.

Season of Scenery: Convenience store 3
This is where I got to last time: plenty of progress made, but plenty still left to do.

Season of Scenery: Convenience store 2
With the Warhammer cottage finished I turned my attention back to the store, at least until I start doing one of the other two projects I have lined up for this year's Season of Scenery. As I was building this in short bursts in between completing the cottage, this post might be a bit disjointed, so bear with me.

Season of Scenery: Convenience store
It's here again, the challenge at which I failed miserably last year. This year, however, I'm raring to go with an MDF building I bought back in December specifically for the 2021 Season of Scenery, along with a couple of smaller projects. And I might even complete one this time!

Rusting a Mini Cooper S
The GT-R... Dear God, the GT-R. It's currently killing my will to live, so I thought I'd get another 1/43 car to bugger up as I was in the mood. As my closest dollar store only has a Ferrari in stock I went to the one in Bennington to discover it also had one model: a bright red BBurago Mini Cooper S. Here's Destiny looking dramatic in front of it.

Burning a Nissan GT-R
Since reading Keith's No More Room In Hell after-action reports and checking out the awesome scenery he uses for his games, I've wanted to get a car to just... well, wreck, basically. I've read that 1/43 scale is best for 28mm minis, and with that in mind I picked one up from my local Dollar General.

Skull rock
As I said in a previous post, I've been watching a lot of scenery tutorials on YouTube recently and the other day one caught my eye in a kind of, "Hey, I could do that" way. So I gave it a shot.

On the fence
I'm on a bit of a scenery kick at the mo after finding some tutorial channels on YouTube and getting addicted to them (they also come in handy when Alicia's watching General Hospital). The stuff they make is amazing, and it's pretty straightforward — basically just foam, card, sand, glue and paint. The other day I stumbled across Vallejo's official channel and found a great video on making a decaying wooden fence so I thought I'd give it a go.

Another brick in the wall
This showed up in the mail a few days ago, and I blasted through it in between doing Pulse's base. It was fun to paint and came out pretty well. I can't believe I completed a scenery piece in a couple of hours when last year I couldn't complete one in two months.

Ruined Chapel
I bought this bit of scenery over two years ago. Debris of War is based in the UK but I got around the shipping charges by having it sent to my mum's house and picking it up when I went to visit her in August 2018. Believe me, I am not the only person thinking, "Hey, why didn't you do that for the Summer of Scenery challenge instead of faffing about with that cottage?"
