Season of Scenery: Convenience store 2

With the Warhammer cottage finished I turned my attention back to the store, at least until I start doing one of the other two projects I have lined up for this year's Season of Scenery. As I was building this in short bursts in between completing the cottage, this post might be a bit disjointed, so bear with me.

Season of Scenery: Convenience store

It's here again, the challenge at which I failed miserably last year. This year, however, I'm raring to go with an MDF building I bought back in December specifically for the 2021 Season of Scenery, along with a couple of smaller projects. And I might even complete one this time!

Zombie hunters part 8

Here's another team of normal people forced to fight for their lives against overwhelming numbers of flesh-eating undead nightmares. Say hi to Lisa, Ken, Red and Beth.

Zombie hunters part 6: Technically they're part 7

This is the first actual group of survivors I've painted since August! The last group was put up individually and you can see them here. These guys are all Hasselfree minis which I ordered in March but only showed up a week ago. From left we have PC Sam Ford, Katie, Parker and Aaron.

Rusting a Mini Cooper S

The GT-R... Dear God, the GT-R. It's currently killing my will to live, so I thought I'd get another 1/43 car to bugger up as I was in the mood. As my closest dollar store only has a Ferrari in stock I went to the one in Bennington to discover it also had one model: a bright red BBurago Mini Cooper S. Here's Destiny looking dramatic in front of it.

Neglected but Not Forgotten: Post Apocalyptic Hunter

Ann's Neglected but Not Forgotten challenge has really spurred me to finish up older minis. While going through one of the many boxes of crap I've acquired thanks to this hobby, I saw a small grey figure stuck between some 30mm bases and realised it was one of my zombie survivors.

Zombie Teens

Look, it took me ages to get all the elements of this photo in focus and only now do I see the post box lurking behind the wall, so deal with it.

Horace "Action" Jackson

Horace was having a great time at a 70s-themed fancy dress party, getting down with the funky beats and chatting up two cool chicks. Suddenly the zeds invaded and since then he's been dispensing death with great vengeance and furious anger.

Argamite Explorer (and another zombie)

I bought this odd little chap as part of a bigger Reaper order back in February this year. He appealed to me for the usual "doesn't look like anything I've painted so far" reason, and I thought he'd be fun to paint. Despite this mini being sold since 2019, I can't find any painted examples of him on the interwebs, not even on Reaper's forum, and I have no idea what "Argamite" refers to. I've named him Ixlr.

Hans, Post Apocalyptic Survivor

My post-apocalyptic/zombie survivors usually come in groups of four, but Hans is such a badass that I decided to post him on his own. This decision has nothing to do with the fact that I don't have three other survivor figures right now, oh no.

Zombies: Sarge

"Zombies (2)". That's Reaper's imaginative name for the pack of two minis I got at Brookhurst Hobbies back in August. As you might have guessed, there are two zombies in this pack, but I just painted one as the other has a ton of flash on it and I just couldn't be bothered.

Urban Zombies 2

I'm not sure why these are called Urban Zombies as they look like they're from the Victorian era. Whatevs. It took me a while to like these enough to buy them as I've never been a fan of zombies with weapons. But during a undead-buying spree back in February I decided to splash out on them, and for once it wasn't to get free shipping.

Zombie hunters part 5: The kids are OK

Here we go again, with Baker, Suzi, Amoy and Finn. All are Hasslefree minis.

More zombies

With all the zombie hunter posts I've been doing, I thought it was about time I posted some of the zombies they're hunting.

Charlie, Lucy and Linus

Two things: 1) these three were my first zombies, and B) it was only months after they were painted and in my display case that I realised who they're named after.

Yes, it's a dumpster

Although I have a ton of basing stuff, I don't have much in the way of scenery (except for oil drums). I've seen this dumpster on Reaper's site and at Brookhurst Hobbies and in November I finally gave in to the voices and bought it. The ongoing apocalyptic lockdown has given me time to (at least attempt to) catch up on some of the Magical Box of Unloved Lead's contents, and why not spend a warm spring afternoon painting a dumpster?
