The medium is really easy to use, and there's several YouTube tutorials on how to use it if you're going for rust effects.

The Vallejo washes are good but I'm not that keen on the coloured ones. I tend to use Vallejo if I need brown/black/sepia/grey, and Army Painter washes if I need red/purple/green/blue.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08624491160014232874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7720801445504663403.post-46202228087601656612021-03-07T07:58:08.353-05:002021-03-07T07:58:08.353-05:00That fence looks great! I've seen chipping medium used to good effect on Gaslands cars and I was considering picking some up, but I thought I'd just do the weathering without it. There's no doubt it looks great when done well, though. Also, those Vallejo washes are something I need to look into. They really look amazing! The Angry Piperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09929451913231828086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7720801445504663403.post-52143676518359301382021-03-05T10:14:36.187-05:002021-03-05T10:14:36.187-05:00Thanks, Roger! I've seen a bunch of tutorials on how to do this effect using hairspray and salt but it looked messy and a bit complicated, and I don't think Alicia would appreciate me using her hairspray. The medium is very easy to use and gives great effects.

The blown-over look is something I didn't think of when making it, so I'm midway through doing base for it :-)Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08624491160014232874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7720801445504663403.post-19577529281760058702021-03-05T10:12:27.065-05:002021-03-05T10:12:27.065-05:00Thanks! I really have to get out of the "go straight to Amazon" frame of mind when looking for stuff. I used about six sticks in total, so I have 994 left which should last me a while.

The medium is apparently really good for rust effects that don't have the "painted on" look. I'm going to give that a go on my last Reaper dumpster.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08624491160014232874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7720801445504663403.post-77370026576703308612021-03-02T05:53:14.411-05:002021-03-02T05:53:14.411-05:00Ah, coffee stirrers... A friend of mine worked in a coffee shop and presented me with a whole box of these, which I've used about a tenth of so far. Nicely done fence and the chipping medium looks interesting. Might be useful for giving that weathered and worn look to vehicles, without too much faffing about.Carrion Crowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12243490491778253955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7720801445504663403.post-16206715297323927132021-03-01T14:19:59.308-05:002021-03-01T14:19:59.308-05:00Very nicely done matt, it does look really realist...Very nicely done matt, it does look really realistic, I have to admit to never having heard of "chipping medium" but I might have to have a look at some point as yours has come out a treat!!

I like the blown over in the wind look too ;)

Cheers Roger.Dick Garrisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01653744597413710281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7720801445504663403.post-71526064750987210332021-03-01T08:17:12.159-05:002021-03-01T08:17:12.159-05:00Thanks, Dave, it was fun to build.
