It works really well and is easy to do; you just have to remember to do the shading/highlighting before glazing.

A bit of grunge and battle damage never hurts when painting Marines :-)Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08624491160014232874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7720801445504663403.post-43022823166464862512020-06-27T18:47:48.019-04:002020-06-27T18:47:48.019-04:00Strong colors on all three. Great work on a classic miniature! I have a "pristine" Ultramarine army, and I also have a "Pristine" Mordian Iron Guard (which actually makes sense, as they do battle in their dress uniforms). It was fine when I painted them back in the 90's; but, at least in the case of the Ultramarines, I would opt for the grungy look if I had to do it all again. The Angry Piperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09929451913231828086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7720801445504663403.post-39728609886968375472020-06-27T14:00:41.859-04:002020-06-27T14:00:41.859-04:00Cheers! I also like how painters are going for the dirty/damaged/battered look with Marines as opposed to the pristine look of a few years back.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08624491160014232874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7720801445504663403.post-33777531434099343292020-06-27T06:07:38.906-04:002020-06-27T06:07:38.906-04:00What I know about Space Marine lore you could writ...What I know about Space Marine lore you could write in a matchbox, but IK do know those are really nicely painted, I think I like the Death Guard one the best, love that "grundgy" look.

Cheers Roger.Dick Garrisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01653744597413710281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7720801445504663403.post-52452945290411172282020-06-25T16:54:09.002-04:002020-06-25T16:54:09.002-04:00I started 40k back in 1989/90, the Rogue Trader er...I started 40k back in 1989/90, the Rogue Trader era. I do like the newer models (but I'm not that keen on Primaris Marines) but the amount of fiddly detail on them now is a pain... just when you think you're done you realise you missed a skull or purity seal. And it does crack me up to see Imperial Marines sporting more skulls on their armour than Khorne renegades.

The maglock thing is interesting; I've seen those mentioned in 40k novels but didn't realise they're actually moulded in the figures. That's the kind of detailing I like.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08624491160014232874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7720801445504663403.post-500575869059283222020-06-25T15:52:01.136-04:002020-06-25T15:52:01.136-04:00When I started in 40K it had a lot more background...When I started in 40K it had a lot more background, which has been streamlined and changed multiple times, through all it's changes and rules revisions.
